Custom Website Design and Development

Objectives

The committee of the 86th Annual Alabama Deep Sea Fishing Rodeo came to Southern View Media with concerns about their old website, specifically that it had an outdated look, feel and function. They felt that the website no longer represented the organization. They also had a unique problem: they needed a live leaderboard that updated automatically to present the up-to-date rankings during their tournaments.

Solutions

Southern View Media’s design and development team worked collaboratively to create a fun and interactive website that not only allows users to view information regarding the rodeo, but also allows fishermen to view live leaderboards during tournaments, as well as access local marine forecasts directly from the National Data Buoy Center. The site is responsive, so that users can access rankings from any location in an easily accessible format. This website also required us to write custom code to allow the site to communicate with 3rd party tools and integrations, including creating cron jobs and website automations to help in meeting the needs and demands of such a well visited website.

Results

ADSFR’s new website now meets the needs of the organization, as well as the needs of the people who fish in their tournaments and sponsors. The modern full-width design is completely mobile responsive. Live leaderboards can be accessed on the home page simply by clicking on the appropriate button.

Social Media Strategy, Content Creation and Posting

Objectives

As a non-profit organization governed by a board of directors, the person in charge of publications changes every year. This created a unique problem when it came to social media, as not every person that was assigned the responsibility had the technical knowledge required to accomplish it. The organization wanted a strong social media presence with professional graphics and video.

Solutions

Southern View Media created a social media content strategy that included creating custom graphics for ADSFR sponsors, as well as graphics and videos to grow engagement and page followers.

Results

ADSFR’s social media channels have seen tremendous growth over the past two years, with their Facebook page gaining 4,000 followers since 2018. Engagement on social media channels increased 200% year over year.

Objectives

As with all businesses, the Alabama Deep Sea Fishing Rodeo was tasked with living in the ‘new normal’ during the COVID-19 pandemic. This created a new challenge, as merchandise had only been sold on location during the rodeo each year prior.

Solutions

Southern View Media design team worked to create an e-commerce platform on the ADSFR website and created Facebook ads to drive traffic and merchandise sales.

Results

The ads ran on Facebook and Instagram for a period of 10 days. During that time period, 80 purchases were made directly from the Facebook ad, generating over $2,400 in direct revenue for the ADSFR. (We’re also happy to report that the e-commerce site did very well, generating an additional $42,000 in revenue over the 10-day period.)
